Easy Outdoor Spaces

Five no-sweat ideas for your porch, deck or patio

No doubt, we’ve been having some dog days of summer lately. So other than stepping into our store to cooling off in the A/C for a bit , this weather doesn’t exactly motivate you to redecorating.

It’s super quick and easy!  There’s still lots of outdoor time to be had this season, so here are five on-trend home decor ideas that will give your outdoor spaces a lift – without making you break a sweat.

1. Refresh your entryway

A fun Sunday afternoon project that gives a great first impression of your home. Just grab a few planters, a whimsical sign or two and voila, you’re in business.

2. Choose a couple of colors

Stay focused with 2-3 theme colors and let the accents do the work.  This patio was completely transformed using teal and pink – using throw pillows, a striped rug, throw for chilly nights (yes, please!) and a fresh flower arrangement.

3. Bring out the green

Decorating with natural elements is always in style. Brighten up a porch or breezeway with an eclectic mix of potted plants and flowers, topped off with a vintage-looking sign that welcomes all.

4. Glam up the grill area

We love it when fun meets functional. Channel your inner crafter by stenciling a grill-worthy message (or maybe your family name) on a painted wooden board. Then add some decorative knobs and the essential grilling tools.

5. Shed a little light

Sometimes it’s the littlest touches that make a space magical. If an outdoor conversation corner needs a little cozy-ing, try adding a simple string of lights above the seating area. Bonus points for a rustic shelf and a few more accents to really make it feel like home.
